WTW Reinsurance Officer - West and Central Africa in Dakar, Senegal

The Role

  • Help on strategization and achievement of Domestic and regional Re Insurance sales targets across multiple countries in West and Central Africa

  • To promote business development initiatives for Cedant driven facultative reinsurance as well as client driven facultative reinsurance,

  • To ensure efficient Back office operations for superior customer experience of the Re Insurance Clients, including following up on the payments to ensure the respect of the DSO

  • To emphasize strict compliance with adherence to Risk, compliance and legal norms

  • Manage existing portfolio by identifying new, and/or existing facultative reinsurance opportunities and participate in cross selling across WTW

  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of prospects including research, initiation of contact and new business presentations in order to obtain new business

  • Provide technical expertise to provide support, service and advice to clients

  • Determine appropriate solutions, structure, price and placement strategies that meet the clients’ needs and deliver profitable business for a range of clients

  • Broke, or liaise with placing brokers to achieve agreement of markets where required and maintain diary/pending system to monitor progress

  • Creation of presentations for both new and existing clients

  • Maintain accurate and concise placing files, using corporate document management system

  • Adhere to and meet fully the expectations of WTW, as set out in its policies and procedures, training material, and embedded in its systems and controls. Our policies and procedures are written to encapsulate the compliance, legal and financial crime related legislation and regulations which apply to WTW

  • Promote WTW’s brand and values to enhance WTW reputation in the market

The Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Reinsurance Department (Sales and Operations)

  • University degree

  • Proven experience working with wholesale clients and stakeholders

  • High level of self-administration skills

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Results orientated

  • Fluent in both English and French, written and verbal.
