JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for process safety management systems at the Curtis Bay plant. Responsible for executing the process safety programs in a process facility subject to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) 29CFR1910.119. Responsible for the Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals (MHHC), and EPA Risk Management Plan 40CFR Part 68 Chemical Accident Prevention Provisions, and/or any facility where process safety discipline is warranted under General Duty Clauses. Facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), incorporating industry best-practice methodologies, and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) studies. Per corporate implementing procedures, refine process hazard analysis methodology and tools to ensure PHAs (Process Hazard Analysis) are conducted efficiently and effectively. Maintain and update RMP (Regulated Product and Materials) plan as required by 40CFR Part68. Maintain access for EHSS (Environment, Health, Safety, Security) Department to process safety procedures and records by business area within SharePoint Document Management System (DMS), or other system as applicable. Under guidance and direction of EHSS management team, maintain action tracking and KPI (Key Performance Indicator) development for reporting, tracking and implementation of mitigation plans for risk reduction. Recommend engineering controls as solutions to PHAs (Process Hazard Analysis), RCAs (Root Cause Analysis) or other projected as requested, and conduct internal Process Safety or other EHSS, Facilities, or Risk audits for continuous improvement. Monitor the Event Management, Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Start Safety Review (PSSR) processes and tracking systems for Curtis Bay for regulatory compliance and adherence to corporate expectations. Administer select training curriculum, as identified by EHSS management team. Develop updated audit protocols as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering and one (1) year of experience in the job or as a Process Engineer or closely related occupation working in a chemical manufacturing plant/environment responsible for facilitating and participating in HAZOP studies applying LOPA and PHA methodologies to evaluate risk/hazards and develop/implement adequate safeguards and mitigation measures for risk reduction. Must have experience reviewing and maintaining internal policies, process safety procedures and inspection records in accordance with EHSS, NFPA, OSHA/MHHC and CCPS guidelines/regulations for safe work practices.
