The Audio Product Acoustics drives the acoustic design and overall audio quality of the entire AirPods lineup. We are a diverse team having deep expertise in acoustic design and integration, hardware and algorithm prototyping, critical listening, and hearing science. We work closely with multi-functional teams to find innovative solutions to complex engineering issues. We are searching for an Acoustic Engineer to help bring AirPods to the next level. Description

As an Acoustic Engineer on the Audio Products Team, you will take new and innovative audio concepts from early design phase all the way to a mass produced audio product heard by our customers. This includes providing input on mechanical and electrical design to industrial and product design teams. As a natural part of simulating, building, and validating acoustic designs, we also give input on the digital signal processing to ensure the overall audio product experience is second to none.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Fundamental knowledge of acoustic theory with a focus on electroacoustics, physical acoustics, and acoustic simulation

  • Acoustic measurement, data acquisition, and data analysis skills

  • A passion for audio and acoustics

  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with multi-disciplinary team members

  • Ability to travel internationally as required

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent field

  • 5+ years of proven industry experience

  • Practical knowledge of acoustic transducers and equivalent circuit modeling techniques in the context of headphone design

  • Proficiency in high level programming (MATLAB or Python)

  • Experience modeling acoustic systems with COMSOL Multiphysics

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $208,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
