Westinghouse Electric Company Lead Automation Engineer in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania

This position is within Global Operating Services Fuel Manufacturing which is a center of excellence consisting of subject matter experts (SMEs) who partner with manufacturing sites and related functions to improve performance of the global manufacturing base and enable new fuel product and process developments. The incumbent will work closely with various technology development and SME groups, the operational and program excellence functions, and manufacturing sites to identify, develop, and employ automation technology which will significantly improve safety, quality, and efficiency. Travel will be required for this position. Your day to day: Partner with department leader and with global manufacturing stakeholders to develop automation, strategy, plans and standards to be used across the manufacturing sites which align with business goals Partner with appropriate stakeholders to conduct automation equipment benchmarking, identify and specify technology and systems, design, develop, procure, implement and industrialize systems and facilitate system qualification Interface with project leaders on new equipment installations or modifications to determine any appropriate scope for automation Coordinate current state assessment with gap/risk identification, target state development, options analysis and alternative evaluation, and business case development Provide expertise and guidance across the scope of automation technology to include sensors, measurements, actuators, automated and closed-loop controls, modeling, and robotics. Must have familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies Initiate and manage multiple projects of a multi-site nature and ensure proper use of resources along with ensuring objectives are met on-time Coordinate sharing of technology, best practices, lessons learned, and operational experience between manufacturing sites Prepare technical papers and make formal presentations to internal and/or external customers and stakeholders. Metrics Accountability - Safety, Delivery, Quality, Cost What you need to be successful in this role: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field 5+ years of experience leading automation projects in a lean manufacturing environment. Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Industry 4.0, PE or similar professional certification preferred. PMI certification is a plus. Exceptional initiative, leadership by influence, collaboration, and communication skills. Expertise in industrial controls (SCADA, PLCs), digital technology, automation, robotics, machine learning, IIoT, Industry 4.0, data analytics, MES and business systems, Power BI. Familiarity with industry standards, such as ANSI/ISA-95 and ANSI/ISA-88. Demonstrated ability to drive improvements with measurable results in a manufacturing environment and the ability to deliver on multiple projects. Demonstrated program management, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills. Why Westinghouse?
