UPMC Food Service Attendant - (Casual) - Cranberry Township in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania

In this entry-level role, you will be responsible for the timely assembly, finalpreparation, and service of nutritionally appropriate and attractive meals, practicing appropriate food handling techniques and food safety procedures in all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating an enjoyable dining experience for residents and their guests in our main dining room and café.

  • Follows established style and order of service while serving in the main dining room, Café and at special functions.

  • Responsible for safely dishing up of desserts, rolls and fresh fruit, in accordance with health regulations.

  • Follows all safety and sanitation rules and regulations.

  • Possesses the ability to follow instructions, work well with others and maintain a good rapport with residents.

  • Responsible for completion of cleaning assignments.

  • Refers all problems to supervisor.

  • Follows rules concerning uniforms, personal appearance and work performance.

  • Promotes clean, safe, and neat environment for residents, self, and staff.

  • Maintains confidentiality of residents' personal and medical record information.

  • Completes all mandatory annual training via My HUB.

  • Collects payment from residents and guests when necessary.

  • Is knowledgeable of the specialty diet needs of residents and knows where to get such information (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free…)

  • Cooperates with the staff of other departments in performing job duties.

  • Attends all department meetings and mandatory in-service programs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Assures the necessary food and service equipment / utensils are secured for assigned area prior to meal service.

  • Adheres to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.

  • May also perform the following job responsibilities based on Facility/Department requirements:

  • Inventories and stocks bulk supplies, following established procedures and designated timeframes.

  • Patient Service Specific Responsibility: Serves patient meal tray using the designated department script, to include proper patient identification.

  • Bus tables and sanitize tables and chairs.

  • Deliver meals to residents' rooms when requested.

  • Set tables for the following meal according to the Food Service Guidelines Manual.

  • Assembles and serves meals according to diet orders, menus and patient / guest specific requirements.

  • Maintains food safety and quality as mandated by PA Department of Health/Allegheny County Health Department/PA Department of Welfare (where applicable)

  • Adheres to hand hygiene and infection control procedures on a consistent basis when interacting with customers.

  • Performs sanitation for assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • One year previous job experience required in lieu of High school diploma/GED preferred.

  • Work permit required if under 18 years old.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34

  • OAPSA
