Product Development Engineering Manager
The Product Development Engineering Manager is responsible for growing and developing our talented product development team, whose purpose is to save lives. The Product Development Engineering Manager's role is to drive TRL's higher, from assessing new growth opportunities to qualifying new products. Response Technologies works within a certified AS9100 continuous improvement quality culture.
What you'll be doing as a Product Development Engineering Manager:
Manage resources and develop a high-performance team.
Create new products and composites using non-metallic materials that include; textiles, coatings, and foams.
Develop new processes that are needed for producing new products.
Develop trial plans, monitor their execution, oversee their reporting, and recommend follow-up actions.
Provide technical support to: Product Development, Manufacturing, and Engineering and fabricators.
Advance Technical Readiness Levels (TRL).
Using internally generated material characterizations, execute dynamic FEA modeling.
Research new composite materials and novel processes.
Create work instructions, best practices, and SOP's other Tier III documents for AS9100 Quality System.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and to team lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to perform prolonged kneeling, squatting, sitting, crawling, and climbing stairs, ladders and work stands.Ability to stand for extended periods during the entire duration of shift.Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks.Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.
Skills You Bring To this Role
Working knowledge of composites, textiles, foam, coating, and other processing equipment
Working knowledge of materials testing equipment
Eagerness to learn and explore advances in 3D textile-based composites, and complementary advanced manufacturing processes
Practical experience with compression and 2-part injection molding processes
Working knowledge of Advance Fiber Placement (AFP) systems is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Effective team player, with strong critical thinking skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to design, execute, and interpret Experimental Designs
What you need to be successful
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering field.
8 years experience with composite processing and/or composite design.
Prior experience leading technical teams.Practical expertise in 3D Printing technologies and their materialsWorking knowledge of CATIA, SolidWorks, or other design softwareWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPointApplicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15)
