Engineering

The Manufacturing Engineer plans and executes initiatives that support advancing our manufacturing process. The Manufacturing Engineer is be responsible for enhancing the manufacturing process, continuous improvement projects, and integration of new processes, technology, and systems into production.

What you’ll be doing as a Manufacturing Engineer

  • Share ownership of the existing legacy materials and processes and driving continuous improvement.

  • Help develop solutions to non-conformance issues.

  • Develop manufacturing processes and assist in identifying resources needed to successfully reach production goals.

  • Integrate tools, equipment, process flows, etc. into the manufacturing process that drive up efficiency, ergonomics, capability, quality, etc.

  • Complete continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Author and maintain process instructions.

  • Work directly on the manufacturing shop floor giving “hands on” support to manufacturing engineers and fabricators when integrating new systems, processes, etc.

Skills You Bring To This Role

  • Able to effectively identify potential safety and quality hazards/risks.

  • Able to develop scope of work, resource estimates, and progress metrics.

  • Able to perform manufacturing trade studies to determine cost effective solutions to manufacturing technical objectives.

  • Works through a disciplined approach to plan, execute, control and close tasks to achieve specific goals to specific success criteria.

  • Identifies manufacturing technology to include, but not limited to the following:

  • Textile preparation – including but not limited to calendaring, sewing, etc.

  • Composition layup – design of metallic, non-metallic, machining, cutting tool, additive part fabrication and assembly manufacturing processes, equipment, tool integration, and product verification.

  • Electrical and Mechanical Systems – design, integration and installation manufacturing processes, tool integration, equipment, and product verification.

  • Manufacturing Execution Systems - process specifications, CAD/CAM; production planning, material requirements scheduling, and material kitting and handling.

  • Tool and Equipment Integration – Facility requirements, ergonomics, safety, environmental, automation, robotics, metrology, tool & die fabrication, tool design methodology, determinant tooling & fixtures, loft practices, flat patterning, numerical controlled programming of equipment, tool cutting/addition technology applied to the fabrication and assembly.

  • Able to apply engineering design and analysis knowledge to evaluate discrepancies and anomalies.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

What You Need To Be Successful

  • 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience is required

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Engineering Technology or relevant/related disciplines
