Job Title: Construction General Laborer

Job Description

Candidates will be working for an excavating company performing labor type roles on jobsites. Responsibilities include site clean up, moving materials, and other general labor tasks. Individuals with previous experience in landscaping, lawn care, or construction labor are well-suited for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site clean-up

  • Move materials around the jobsite

  • Assist with various labor tasks as needed

  • Operate hand tools and equipment

  • Follow safety protocols and wear provided PPE

Essential Skills

  • General labor

  • Experience in landscaping or lawn care

  • 1+ years of experience in construction or landscaping

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technician experience in landscaping or lawn care

This is a smaller excavating company local to the Madison area. Candidates will not have to travel outside of Dane County or work overnight. There are opportunities to move up within the company and into different roles.

Work Environment

You will be working on commercial jobsites in all types of weather conditions, including hot, cold, and rainy environments. The company is a small family-owned business with a total of 30-40 employees. You will be part of a team of 2-4 members depending on the project. The dress code requires steel toe boots and pants. Work hours are from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, with summer hours from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm. You will start at the shop and head out to the jobsite from there. You must have your own personal hand tools including bags, tape, and a hammer. PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, and high visibility shirts or vests are provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
