This role involves overseeing IT infrastructure, ensuring the secure and efficient use of technology, and safeguarding the organization against cyber threats. The Director will work closely with leadership to align IT and cybersecurity practices with business objectives and regulatory requirements.The work involves responsibility for administering and directing countywide information technology (IT) activities. The incumbent plans, directs and coordinates all county IT operations and activities as they relate to a variety of administrative, financial and electronic communications, establishes IT policies, procedures and standards, and coordinates and administers IT contracts. The incumbent also either directly provides or assigns IT personnel to provide technical assistance and advice to county departments regarding the identification and solution of a variety of data processing and systems design and analysis problems. The work is performed under the administrative direction of the County Administrator with leeway allowed for the use of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Supervision is exercised over the work of subordinate staff. Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:(a)Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in electronic data processing, management information systems, computer science, information technology, public administration or closely related field and four (4) years of work experience in network administration and information systems management, two (2) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR(b)Possession of an Associate’s degree or higher as defined in (a) and six (6) years of experience as defined in (a); OR(c)Possession of a high school diploma or equivalency diploma and eight (8) years of experience as defined in (a).(d)An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a), (b) and (c). NOTE: Degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If the degree was awarded by an educational institution outside of the United States and its territories, applicant must provide independent verification of equivalency.
