Generac Power Systems Rental Technician in Corona, California

The Generator Rental Technician is responsible for providing on-site and phone troubleshooting, repair, equipment modifications, installation, and sales support of Generac industrial products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience

  • 2 years related technical experience maintaining equipment. This could be in the following areas: farm, industrial, commercial, construction, and or telecom.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in electrical engineering or mechanical Engineering

  • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Rental Yard: Sweeping, cleaning, dusting, washing.

  • Gather and prepare documentation regarding product failure.

  • Develop new and maintain existing relationships with customers’ branches, district, and regional sales and service managers.

  • Travel throughout the ES territory to support the delivery and installation of rental units at customer locations. Overnight travel may be required.

  • Monitor incoming and outgoing rental units at assigned locations. This includes completing and submitting all required documentation to the coordinator in a timely manner.

  • Adhere to rental department processes/procedures.

  • Support on-call needs for the rental department. This includes being able to deploy to support the rental department during PSPS and other events as deemed critical by the branch manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams

  • Intermediate Computer skills and knowledge

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision

  • Experienced in Electronics, Electromechanical Technology

  • Knowledge of power generation; light tower, pumps and heating products

  • Spark Ignited knowledge

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
