General Description (Purpose and Function):

The Coaching Fellowship for women’s swimming will assist the Head Coach and Assistant Coach in women’s swimming with the coaching, management and administration of the swimming program. The fellowship is intended to provide experience in the coaching profession. Coaching fellows are permitted to engage in all aspects of coaching, participate in the management and administrative aspects of the swimming program and participate in on-campus recruiting activities. Coaching fellows are not permitted to engage in off-campus recruiting activities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist Head and Assistant coaches with all aspects of practice sessions and workouts. Assists in coaching during competitions. Attends coaches’ preparatory meetings and implements competition strategies. Coaching fellow will work at the direction of the head and assistant swimming coach and perform any coaching duties as assigned by either Coach.

  2. Develops a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport and maintains thorough and continual familiarity with all applicable University and NCAA rules and regulations.

  3. Assist Head Coach and Assistant Coach with any management or administrative needs.

  4. Complete special projects as assigned by the head or assistant swimming coach.

  5. Responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental policies and procedures.

b. Attend athletic staff education sessions

  1. Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Head or Assistant Coach.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree is required.
