Scope of Position:The Facilities Manager is responsible to the Executive Director for the care and maintenance of the Coos Bay Corps properties including all buildings, quarters, vehicles, and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:• Able to provide positive supervision and leadership to maintenance volunteers and staff.• Work cooperatively with centers staff, directors, participants, volunteers and officers.• Extensive maintenance and building experience.• Able to follow through on assignments and projects.• Desirably, have a business background and experience to do the necessary work with economy of expenses.• Valid Oregon Class C Driver’s License always during employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Responsible for all facility maintenance/repairs to include all buildings and property of Corps, Officer’s Quarters, and Thrift Store.• Is a possible responder in after-hours critical incidents related to property related emergencies. • Responsible for maintenance/repairs of all property including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and building renovation work.• Supervises all janitorial work at Corps and Thrift Store.• Serves as Site Manager/project manager on all facility projects outsourced to professional vendors.• Oversee requisitions and supply requests for janitorial and facility related needs.• Responsible for and maintains facility Work Order program. • Responsible for all vendor services related to property maintenance and supplies. • Responsible for all vehicles and equipment, regular maintenance scheduling and inspection.• Maintaining inventory of tools and equipment.• Serve/supervise drivers as needed for maintenance related pick-ups, deliveries, hauling, dumping and metal recycling.• Assist for Holiday Meals Program needs as assigned.• Responsible for Christmas kettle maintenance, repair, placement and related kettle program supplies.• Assist/supervise Christmas kettle driving as assigned.• Assist Cascade Division as approved by the Corps Officer in support of projects, events and activities.• Provides regular written and oral reports as needed to the Corps Officer.• Provide monthly summary of Incident reports in a Safety Report at Key Staff Meeting and discuss relevant topics in relation to The Salvation Army Policy. • Attend Executive Staff meetings as required.• Responsible for all maintenance related to the Officers’ Quarters.• May be called on, including after hours, for critical incidents related to the Officers’ Quarters.• Responsible for occasional donation pickups as assigned by Corps Officer.• Provide continued assistance for donations used in the Homeless Outreach and Food Services. • Responsible for inspection, maintenance of safety/emergency and fire prevention equipment including fire hoses, extinguisher, exit lighting, emergency lights, signage and inspections as required by State, City, County and The Salvation Army Safety protocols. • Responsible for the organization, and cleanliness, of the warehouse and maintenance area. • Responsible for the general maintenance of The Salvation Army vehicles.• Take-in/arrange for annual vehicle maintenance.• Maintain maintenance logs.• Ensure propane tanks are kept filled.• Arrange for major repairs / improvements.• All other duties as assigned by Executive Director/Corps Officer.

Physical Requirements:• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continual basis.• Ability to operate multiline telephone and other common office equipment. • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Working Conditions:The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, tolerate loud, noisy children, and participate in seasonal, and after-hours events or activities. This position requires you to be on your feet frequently throughout the day.
