Position Summary:
This project is an incrementally launched, 1000’ long, steel composite bridge on the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska, South of Anchorage. The project is anticipated to last approximately 4-5 years and entails large-diameter drilled shafts, substructure concrete, steel plate girder pre-assembly and launching, and a cast-in-place concrete deck. The location is remote in nature, with an approximate 1-hour drive to the nearest town. Seeking individuals interested in becoming part of a small, tight-knit, highly driven group with the protection and success of the team at the forefront.
Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and supervising the bridge project by planning, organizing and controlling day-to-day tasks; complete quality inspections; supervises sub-contractors and field engineers.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, plans, specifications, contractual documents, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
Provides critical information about the current status of a project and accurately estimates how it will finish from a cost and revenue perspective from where it started
Works closely with Walkers/Superintendents regarding project planning, field leadership, work plan development, submissions, and approvals
Conducts recurring team meetings to stay aligned with the expectations and goals of a project
Manages complex material supplies and drafts scopes of work for subcontractors
Develop work plans and hazard analysis plans for crews to follow to safely execute the work
Understands and promotes innovation for cost and schedule improvements
Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, safety standards, and productivity goals
Performs complex construction designs - SOE, Hydraulics, PLC, Marine, etc.
Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc.
Ability to relocate as needed

Reforecasting job cost reports

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or engineering-related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy civil construction
Experience with Bridge Construction strongly preferred
Steel erection experience is preferred
Physical Demands
Travel will be required to attend training and meetings.
Ability to sit or stand for an entire shift
Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.
Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly.
