This position is located in Commerce City, Colorado and has a Monday through Friday, 7am - 4:00pm work schedule.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Buyer, you are responsible for sourcing and procuring supplies, raw materials, equipment, and services essential for the organization's operations. Your duties include managing inventory, negotiating contracts, and maintaining relationships with existing suppliers while seeking new ones.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Generate purchase orders for goods and services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the organization. Identify and evaluate suppliers of materials and services used at our manufacturing site. Develop and improve materials management procedures and continuously enhance/improve supplier base ensuring efficiency and competitiveness for the company. Conduct supplier audits as needed. Manage, utilize and continuously improve MRP system within Chempax. Review, evaluate and negotiate all contracts with vendors. Review product specifications on a regular basis to ensure alternative parts and solutions can be evaluated and ensure dual sourcing of all critical materials. Collaborate with Scheduling Manager to understand schedule and upcoming demand fluctuations. Monitor inventory across all warehouses to ensure just-in-time delivery from suppliers for materials needed for production and review historical demand patterns and sales forecasting to adjust re-order points as needed. Evaluate price, market assessment, product ordering, record keeping and tracking of inbound orders and provide process improvements. Prepare cost analysis of finished goods. Monitor upcoming price increases and industry trends that may affect purchases. Partner with quality to investigate supplier quality issues, driving resolutions and corrective action. Coordinate with shipping to ensure timely deliveries and oversee the integrity and quality. Support accounts payable as needed to ensure payables are processed timely and accurately. Provide input to management regarding problems, shortages, material changes, and backlogs. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 5+ years' experience sourcing/ procurement in a manufacturing environment Experience with purchasing practices, establishing costs and inventory management Knowledge of materials and sources of supply to make purchases at a price consistent with quality and quantity Demonstrated strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite and ERP systems Ability to travel if required
