Job Summary:

Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks and airfoils for the aerospace propulsion market, is looking for dedicated individuals to support our organization. We have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Operations Associate Director to be based in Columbus, GA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all Operational aspects of the Value Stream working in collaboration with EH&S, Quality, Manufacturing, Facilities, Material Planning & Logistics, Customer Engagement, tactical Supply Chain, and Finance in addition to external customers

  • Manages the execution of operations to meet established targets and metrics within Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Organizational development

  • Manages capacity, demand, & resource plans to ensure rate readiness and 100% On-time delivery to internal and external customers

  • Direct a multi-functional team to ensure areas meet business strategy objectives with a focus on compliance

  • Supports all safety programs to include behavioral based safety and job hazard analysis; ensures that Operations is flawless executing all safety programs that Operations is responsible for performing

  • Ensures successful implementation of engineering development activities

  • Develops maturity of Business Intelligence tools to ensure efficient material flow

  • Integrates tactical & strategic supply chain functions to ensure delivery and manage risk

  • Leads and supports all Operational continuous improvement processes and initiatives to include Visual Management Strategy, Layout Linkage Flow, and 5S

  • Develops the annual operational macro plan and ensures individual projects are implemented to resolve the problem, issue or opportunity

  • Drives employee engagement / positive culture, and executes strategic workforce planning initiatives

  • Ensures adherence to our Operational rhythm to include Tier meetings, IPT construct, Gemba boards, RCCA, recovery plans, hiring, etc

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 12+ years of prior relevant experience; OR Advanced Degree and 10+ years of experience; OR in absence of a degree, 16+ years of experience

  • 7+ years of experience leading operations supervisors or managers

  • 5+ years of experience working with the Lean System in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Project)

  • U .S. citizenship is required , as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within Columbus Forge's business, bringing a unique understanding of our Forge business, products and services

  • SAP experience

  • Demonstrated experience implementing world class manufacturing techniques

  • Certified in Lean manufacturing or Six-Sigma with experience establishing mature a Continuous Improvement culture

  • Demonstrated experience with new program introductions and rate increases

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
