Robert Half Medical Scheduler in Columbia, South Carolina

Description We are offering a job opportunity in the healthcare industry for a Medical Scheduler, based in Columbia, South Carolina. The role involves maintaining a professional work environment, scheduling client appointments, organizing a client database, verifying insurance and eligibility information, and administrative duties. This role is a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and reporting supply and maintenance needs for the facility

• Coordinating with the Director and licensed clinicians to schedule client appointments

• Organizing and maintaining a complete client database in compliance with internal and external regulations

• Assisting the Director in regular peer file reviews to ensure compliance within client charts

• Verifying insurance and eligibility information accurately and timely to ensure third-party payment for services rendered

• Creating a welcoming environment for clients

• Coordinating referrals for new clients including collection and scanning of intake documentation

• Working with the business office to ensure initial and ongoing eligibility of benefits with commercial and Medicaid insurance

• Maintaining client database including referral information, dates of service, demographic information, and other data relevant to internal and external reporting

• Performing administrative duties including answering and returning phone calls, copying, scanning, faxing, distributing mail, creating and binding documents

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites

• Experience in Billing Functions

• Excellent Customer Service skills

• Proficient in Data Entry

• Experience in Patient Scheduling and Physician scheduling Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites

• Familiarity with billing functions within a medical setting

• Excellent customer service skills

• Experience in data entry, with high accuracy and attention to detail

• Proven experience in patient scheduling

• Knowledge and experience in physician scheduling

• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher degree in a relevant discipline will be appreciated.
