The team is responsible for managing the account lifecycle across cloud providers enabling teams to easily build and deploy services on the cloud. You will play a crucial role in ensuring high availability, performance, efficiency, and usability of the platform.

Are you excited to work on critical systems to create tangible customer impact? Would you like the opportunity to work at a company on the forefront of AI, integrating it across its product portfolio to enhance the way that information is used to support business decisions? If this resonates with you, we would love to speak with you!

Meet the Cloud Capacity Team

Our team is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary technology group with a mission to enable the Splunk Cloud to maximize revenue and innovation by working seamlessly to provide our teams and customers with cloud resources exactly when they need them. We operate across multiple cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP and build tools to more efficiently manage the account lifecycle. Your work will enable teams to automate the planning, bootstrapping, account management, deployment, and other tasks associated with building and deploying services in a multi-cloud environment that uses the latest technologies they have to offer.

What you'll get to do

  • Own the end-to-end process for the software development lifecycle: collaborate directly with stakeholders on their requirements, then design, develop, test, and deploy!

  • Engage in design and code reviews with a team of peers to ensure code is maintainable and deliverables are well documented, diagnosable, and serviceable.

  • Participate in rotating on-call duties to diagnose and solve customer issues.

  • Expand your knowledge of cloud services, including direct engagement with our Cloud Service Providers on the challenges and benefits of new releases in cloud infrastructure.

Must-have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3+ years experience and a Master’s degree

  • Strong fundamentals in software engineering: data structures and algorithms

  • Coding proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Go(preferred), JavaScript, Python.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gitlab CI, or similar).

  • Knowledge of REST, gRPC, or similar communication paradigms

  • Experience collaborating with operational teams during issue diagnosis or service interruptions stemming from deployed code or code components.

  • Experience managing public cloud services such as AWS, GCP, and/or Azure

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills including the use of associated tools.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

We’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don’t worry if you can’t check off every box. We’re not hiring a list of bullet points–we’re interested in the whole you.

  • Operational excellence: you think beyond feature delivery into how your code is serving customers in production

  • Certified on AWS Cloud Architecture or similar (preferred).

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and languages like Terraform.

  • Experience with cloud computing expense accounting is highly desired

  • Experience deploying services in Kubernetes on the cloud

What we offer

  • Growth and mentorship. We believe in growing engineers through ownership and leadership opportunities. We also believe mentors help both sides of the equation.

  • A stable, collaborative, and supportive work environment. We value transparency, respectful collaboration, adaptability, and curiosity.

  • Balance. We want you to be successful outside of work too. We trust our colleagues to be responsible with their time and commitment, and believe that balance helps cultivate a positive environment.

  • Fun. We are committed to having every employee want to give it their all, be respectful and a part of the family, and have a smile on their face while doing it.
