The Sr. Business Intelligence SQL Developer position exists to provide technical development of detailed reporting of ministry key performance indicators. This position will develop, test, and implement new and enhanced reports, define new data aggregation views, working with other ministry departments to develop and enhance the quality and presentation of operational metrics, trend analyses, and statistical models.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Compiles and analyzes operational information from all components of the ministry and develops integrated analyses and reports using complex database applications and data sets
Develops reporting solutions using Microsoft SQL, Snowflake tools and database development techniques to join key data for integrated analyses and reporting of ministry data to all levels of the organizational leadership
Leads SQL report design, development, standardization, and implementation efforts as a reporting representative for multiple (5-10) ministry departments
Automates existing reports by enhancing the report with stored procedures, views, and functions for publication to an existing web reporting catalog
Participates in and coordinates the design and implementation of data collection, cleansing and analysis
Develops and maintains automated reporting solutions that present the key business statistics and performance indicators of the ministry via a customer-intuitive and visually appealing web-based graphical user interface supported by SQL data sources
Develops frequent customized (ad hoc) analysis and reporting solutions as required by leadership; Evaluates which ad hoc reports would be good candidates for automation, and develops automated solutions
Ensures that analysis and reporting solutions meet client (business owner) and departmental design requirements
Monitors significant changes to key business statistics and performance indicators to demonstrate possible business trends
Performs data analysis functions across large data sets, encompassing multiple key measures and long-term trend analysis
Oversees handoff of newly develop reporting applications to other team members for ongoing support and maintenance
Maintains a positive relationship with customer areas and the IT department, ensuring that customer needs are met and that IT policies are followed through mutually beneficial collaboration
Creates and supports windows and web-based .NET applications as supplements to report inputs or as stand-alone process improvement applications
Salesforce data object and SOQL experience a plus

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information Systems
5 - 7 years of prior work experience involving use of SQL programming, creation of stored procedures, data extraction, transformation, and presentation including hands-on work with SQL 2005 and 2008
5 + years of experience with enterprise reporting applications (such as Cognos, CoreMetrics, SAS, etc.)
5+ years of experience with relational database modeling, data warehouse building, and standardized information retrieval
Demonstrated experience in report development to meet customer information and business needs
Demonstrated mastery of SQL Server 2008 and SQL Reporting Services, SSAS, SSIS experience a plus
Knowledge of web data presentation using data visualization tools required
Knowledge of Microsoft C#, SQL 2008 R2, and .NET 3.5 or greater preferred

Salary Range: $89,440 to $102,960/yr
