Odyssey Systems is recruiting for a Network Engineer to join the team. The technical expert filling this position will be a trusted advisor and consultant to the government that supports government-led on-going and future sustainment, modification, and capability upgrade efforts across the NCMC-ITW/AA and CCIC2S Enterprise Networks. A key focus for this position is the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, and integration of networks supporting these systems. This position will also support broader systems engineering activities associated with these systems.

Program: The NCMC-ITW/AA Branch sustains unique ITW/AA Cheyenne Mountain systems, networks, and associated components through an enterprise-wide set of integrated mission capabilities, support services, and data products that provide military authorities with an accurate, timely, unambiguous and continuous warning and attack assessment of air, missile and space threats.This position will support multiple projects and programs from NCMC-ITW/AA and CCIC2S sustainment and the execution of existing programs and p This is a full-time position at Peterson SFB, located in Colorado Springs, CO with hybrid flexibility for anyone local - subject to change per the government's discretion.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: Advise and ensure high-quality work that involves the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked NCMC-ITW/AA systems across all levels of the mission environment. Functions in this area may include: Analyzing and recommending network requirements Recommending and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure Analyzing network workload Monitoring network capacity and performance Diagnosing and resolving network problems, to include verifying hardware configurations Recommending network backup and recovery procedures Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network operating systems software; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/ cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services Provide system/program engineering, technical support, and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system-level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance are achieved in accordance with approved specifications Perform validation of systems, including the development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and evaluate results of major engineering systems with a concentration on end to end communications Prepare technical documents that define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics. Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using the application of engineering economy principles Have experience with the Agile methodology for development and sustainment of software systems Represent government interests by performing Agile Product Owner roles and responsibilities Ability to interact professionally with DoD end users, DoD customer, and contractor support personnel; this includes the ability to prepare and present briefings to these personnel Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with AF SEAM processes Provide engineering support to conduct formal trade studies based on engineering...
