Title:

Lead Systems Engineer

Air Force TENCAP exploits National space, cyber and intelligence capabilities to deliver rapid, cost-dominant, and innovative warfighting solutions across the full spectrum of Air Force and Joint military missions. AF TENCAP is a Congressionally mandated rapid acquisition organization supporting tactical and operational warfighters and serves as the Air Force executive agent for the Military Exploitation of Reconnaissance and Intelligence Technologies (MERIT) program. As the Air Force's leader for National-to-Tactical capability development, AF TENCAP collaborates with leading experts across the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, National Laboratories, industry, inter-agency, academia, and partner nations.

We are looking for innovative, creative, and highly motivated individuals to support the strategic planning and tactical execution of IT resources. Specifically, the implementation and configuration of development environments, network infrastructure, big data analytics and multi classification solutions within a government enterprise. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for learning, the drive to innovate and a humble attitude.

Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Work Location: Colorado Springs, CO - 100% On-Site

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI or Active TS with T5/SSBI within last two years.

Required Experience and Education:BS degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other engineering related field.

Required Skills:

  • Develop comprehensive architectural plans and blueprints for systems and infrastructure that meet mission needs and technical requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to deployment.

  • Collaborate with mission partners, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Design and oversee the integration of new systems and technologies into existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless interoperability and performance.

  • Analyze system performance and make recommendations for improvements to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability.

  • Experience with programming (scripting) languages (i.e. Bash, Python, .Net or Java)

  • Security+

  • Experience with Virtual Machines and Type 1 hypervisors, e.g. KVM, ESXi

  • Experience with Kubernetes/Docker (deploying/troubleshooting apps/containers)

  • Linux Experience: Proven experience with Linux, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Desired Skills:

  • Git/GitLab experience

  • Apache open-source products (i.e. NiFi, Kafka, Zookeeper)

  • DevSecOps

  • Risk Management Framework implementation

  • Software development experience (i.e. C++, Java, C)

Basic Compensation: $130,620 - $195,930

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
