Amergis Athletic Trainer - ST in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an Athletic Trainer evaluates to advise individuals on how to recover from or avoid athletic-related injuries or illnesses and maintain peak physical fitness. This individual focuses on the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries and upstream management through early intervention.

Local Pay: $32/hr

Location: Colorado Springs

Hours : 32-40 hours a week

Start Date : 8/12/24

Duration : 24/25 SY

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides on-site athletic and physical training, post injury care, and rehabilitative care

  • Prepares and maintain daily injury evaluation forms on the personnel evaluated and/or treated

  • Develops alternative fitness programs

  • Implements treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic exercise, modalities and work conditioning as necessary

  • Attends all scheduled Physical Fitness and Wellness classes, and any other events deemed necessary

  • Oversees and be present at all rehabilitative care sessions

  • Conducts an initial assessment of the individual’s injury or illness to provide emergency or continued care and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis and treatment

  • Applies protective or injury preventive devices, such as tape, bandages, or braces, to body parts, such as ankles, fingers, or wrists

  • Assesses and reports the progress of recovering patients to appropriate healthcare professionals and/or individuals

  • Collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs for injuries

  • Cares for injuries, using physical therapy equipment, techniques, or medication

  • Performs administrative tasks, such as keeping records or writing reports

  • Plans or implements comprehensive injury or illness prevention programs

  • Instructs coaches, athletes, parents, medical personnel, or community members in the care and prevention of athletic injuries

  • Conducts initial injury evaluations; develop written treatment and injury prevention plans.

  • Conducts biomechanical assessments, worksite evaluations, individual and group interactions with the intent of reducing injuries

  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

  • State Athletic Training licensure, certification and/or registration (as applicable by state)

  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)

  • Minimum of three (3) years athletic training experience preferred

  • Must have current CPR certification

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
