As an Investigator, within Emerging Drug Delivery Platforms you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and supporting the implementation of the drug delivery capabilities needed by GSK to support a rapidly growing and diversifying patient centric portfolio. You will be responsible for engaging cross-functional activities/initiatives with key stakeholders from discovery, medicine design, drug product development, and DP processing functional areas. Fundamental understanding of concepts of molecule design, therapeutic targets & disease etiology, routes of administration, drug disposition, and drug product design concepts for small molecules /proteins/oligonucleotides (including ASOs & siRNAs) are required for this position.

Responsibilities of the role include:

Leads or contributes to Pharmaceutical Development strategies.

Scientific acumen for conceptualization of design, development, and characterization of novel drug delivery systems

Hands on experience in formulation and process development of small molecules/proteins/oligonucleotides, particularly novel complex injectable products

Prepare development reports and participate in preparing regulatory documents.

Propose and deliver innovative approaches to achieve project goals.

Provide correct interpretation of results and perform complex data management and analysis.

Work with the Director of Emerging Drug Delivery Platforms, DPD to ensure highest quality design selection to deliver robust patient focused formulations and drug products.

Develop a network of external collaborators/partners in academia and other industries that is appropriate to ensure that we are applying the best science to our drug delivery challenges.

Exercise professional judgment to determine the most appropriate course of action for a project.

Act or delegate as liaison with research units, medicinal design, and external partners.

Ensure all drug product development challenges/ risk are clearly communicated and appropriate risk mitigation plans developed.

Ensure compliance with all safety and quality regulations.

Take responsibility for providing solution that work for the project leads as required.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

PhD in Chemistry, Bio-engineering, Applied Physics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field with experience in novel and complex drug delivery.

Expertise in characterization of physico-chemical properties, biophysical and biopharmaceutics of conjugates & novel drug delivery systems to enable tissue specific/intracellular delivery.

Expertise and knowledge of chemical design principles for structural stabilization of macromolecules.

Preferred Qualifications:

Attention to detail.

Experience in working within a product development matrix team.

Demonstrates strong networking skills through interactions across departments, divisions, and disciplines.

Successful track record in publishing and presenting in peer reviewed scientific journals/presentations.

Demonstrate effective interpersonal, communications and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.
