Pilgrim's REFRIGERATION - AFTERNOONS - RESUME REQUIRED in Cold Spring, Minnesota

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Installs new equipment, repairs and modifies existing refrigeration/HVAC and boiler equipment.

  • Performs necessary preventative maintenance on al equipment up to and including rebuilding compressors and boilers as needed and records necessary information.

  • Assists in the investigation in areas of cost reduction method improvement, quality improvement, yield control and provides suggestions.

  • Trains other maintenance mechanics in ammonia refrigeration/HVAC/Boiler operations.

  • Possess the ability and willingness to be state licensed, should this be mandated

  • Assists other maintenance mechanics in their duties when time permits

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and provides feedback to Supervisors on maintenance concerns

  • On Call weekends is required as well as the flexibility to work various shifts

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Two years in commercial refrigeration environment/boiler operation and or accredited education preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English

  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations

  • Ability to pass a Prove It test

  • Working knowledge of NH3 refrigeration principles and understanding of plant refrigeration systems, electric and mechanical procedures

  • Ability to read and understand schematics

  • Ability to arc and gas weld (overhead and bench)

  • Mechanical ability to analyze production machinery and their function and repair

  • Willing to work weekends and various shifts

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
