WE ARE HIRING!JOIN OUR TEAM! THE POWER OF CHANGE IN ALBANY COUNTY!

We are seeking motivated individuals who are driven by community work and advocacy to join our team. ACAP is a community-based organization that has been supporting the empowerment and economic upward mobility of vulnerable residents of Albany County for over 57 years. The Program Assistant provides assistance to the Site Supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of the Cohoes Outreach Office & Food Pantry. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist coordinator to help families/individuals seeking services from ACAP including our Food Pantry.

  • Assist in maintaining inventory at the (Cohoes) food pantry including stock new order, inventory, etc.

  • Requires routine lifting and unloading of pantry food items (up to 25lbs), and the ability to do so in inclement weather.

  • Assist in connecting families/individuals in connecting to services and resources, from ACAP or other community agencies.

  • Assist in the completion of customer intakes, progress notes, and other required documentation.

Starting at $15.29 per hour; 8:30AM-4:30PM, Monday-Friday; 30-37.5 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED AND a minimum of one (1) years’ experience working in human services, customer service, or related experience is required. Associate degree in human services, social work, Sociology, or related area, or a Family Development Credential is preferred. Good interpersonal & communication skills. Basic PC skills including database entry, word processing, and spreadsheet skills are required. May also be required to possess and have ability to maintain a valid driver license. Bi- or Multi-Lingual is a plus.
