TheMonitor Technologistensures that heart monitors and associated equipment are functioning correctly, examines patient heartbeat patterns noting irregularities and reports status to the medical staff in charge of patients.\ \ JOB DUTIES

  • Observe and interpret patients heart monitors checking for abnormalities, including irregular heartbeats, arrhythmias and cardiac arrest
  • Attach electrodes to patients bodies and record electrical impulses from the heart to perform EKGs
  • Use hospital equipment and medical technology to perform various tests on patients hearts, such as stress tests
  • Recognize and respond to any abnormal conditions in patients heartbeats
  • Interpret test results and report any changes in heart readings or EKGs to the Doctor or Nurse in charge of the affected patient
  • Update patients records with all readings taken from the heart monitors or EKGs
  • Clean and maintain heart monitors and EKG machines
  • Report any necessary equipment repairs in a timely manner
  • Assist with training new staff in medical monitoring systems
  • Delivery exceptional patient care

TheMonitor Technologistassumes other responsibilities as assigned.\ \ JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to team with patients and staff
  • Understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for medical assistant scope
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful environments
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, sit; reach with arms, hands and fingers to handle and feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; taste and smell as demonstrated by the Occupational Performance Capacity (OPC) test and/or pre-employment physical administered by CRMC at offer
