Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contract Surety Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting surety bond applications for contractors, ensuring that they meet the necessary criteria for financial stability and performance capability. This role involves analyzing financial statements, assessing risk, and making informed decisions to support the company's underwriting policies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and underwrite contract surety bond applications for construction and service contractors.

• Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess the financial stability and performance risk of applicants.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, and clients to facilitate the underwriting process.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor and manage the surety bond portfolio, including assessing ongoing risks and recommending actions.

• Collaborate with internal teams to provide underwriting support and expertise.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Proven experience in surety underwriting, particularly in contract surety.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess financial statements and other financial data.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Knowledge of industry standards, legal requirements, and regulatory guidelines related to surety bonds.

• Proficiency in relevant software and tools for underwriting and financial analysis.
