Ohio CAT Technician Development Academy Intern - Ohio CAT - Cleveland in Cleveland, Ohio
*JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: *If you have wanted to get into the Heavy Equipment industry as a mechanic/technician, but don't have the level of experience that is required? Our Technician Development Academy is your answer! As an Ohio CAT Technician Development Academy Intern, you will learn to perform duties relating to heavy off road equipment and/or engine service and repair through an 11-week program (5-weeks instructor-led classroom/lab, 1-week on-the-job training at sponsored shop, 5-weeks instructor-led classroom/lab), with a total of 400 hours of training. Technical Training classes will be attended for the duration of the program at the Ohio Machinery Co. Technical Training Center in Columbus. When necessary, Ohio CAT will provide housing accommodations for the intern. The TDA Intern will acquire knowledge of:
- Accurately completing service reports
- Use of Service Information System (SIS)
- Theories and applications of electrical and electronic systems.
- Basic wiring and hydraulic schematics.
- Diesel engine theory and repair.
* REQUIREMENTS:*
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited technical school with emphasis on diesel engine or earthmoving repair will be preferred, though not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, along with a strong work ethic with attention to detail.
- Must be able to Attend all required training classes and on-the-job training.
