The Sherwin-Williams Company Lead Data Scientist in Cleveland, Ohio

The Data Scientist focus specializes in developing and programming methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze structured, unstructured and/or diverse "big data" sources to generate insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. This involves identifying insights from data and metadata sources, interpreting and communicating findings to management. By using statistical analysis, Machine Learning (ML) techniques, and data visualization, the Data Scientist will uncover patterns and trends within data to help the business make informed decisions and solve complex problems. Develop effective analysis of large amounts of complex data to extract insights and drive decision-making through data visualization tools and presentation. Supervise the design, develop and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse "big data" sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. Lead the interaction with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Implement key business concepts, strategies, and practices to effectively analyze how data aligns with business objectives and impacts decision-making processes. Provide preliminary recommendations of meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers. Implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics solutions to address business challenges. This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H1-B visa. This position has a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and the option for working remotely two days. Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Education Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or related field, or in lieu of related degree, at least 9 years of experience in AI, Data Science, or related field Preferred Related certifications (e.g., Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence) Experience Required 6-8 years of experience in AI, Data Science, or related field Extensive knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical models, and data mining techniques Expert in designing and implementing data-related AI solutions for complex business problems Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present technical ideas and results to non-technical audiences Technical Skills Programming Languages (e.g., Python, R, Java, Scala) AI and Machine Learning Frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Keras, PyTorch) Cloud Computing Platforms: (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) Database Technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark) Data Visualization Tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) Prompt Engineering Preferred Experience with data science in research roles in the physical sciences a plus Experience working with researchers in the physical sciences a plus Experience with research-specific Python libraries and techniques (e.g., experimental design) a plus Experience in teaching/training other professionals, particular teaching data science/AI/ML techniques to research professionals a plus Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employme
