Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Community Engagement Coordinator position. The Community Engagement Coordinator supports the strategic goals of the Office of Advocacy to influence public policy through engaging, educating and empowering the voices of persons within LMM-served communities (individuals and families experiencing homelessness, incarceration, joblessness, and other structural barriers). This includes participating in community groups and community facing opportunities, planning public facing forums hosted by LMM that provide education on critical topics and advocacy training, and support for internal and external communications working in conjunction with the Director and communications team. Essential Job Responsibilities Community Engagement • Represent LMM at local community meetings and on coalitions, and attend government hearings/meetings as assigned • Build relationships with local community leaders, elected officials and administrative staff • Identify opportunities for engagement in efforts related to advancing racial equity • Work with the Advocacy Director to identify systems-change opportunities based on the needs of the community • Support Reentry Week Activities including the community engagement component of the Charles R. See Forum and the planning of the People's Reentry Assembly Civic Engagement • Identify opportunities to engage staff and community in civic engagement (i.e. voter outreach/registration drives, service days, neighborhood events where LMM sites are located) • Plan and facilitate bi-monthly forums or events on topics related to LMM's civic engagement agenda. The audience may include program participants, staff, board and/or community members. • Develop and implement a curriculum for advocacy trainings that support story collection and storytelling by individuals with lived experience Administration/Communications • Develop and maintain a database of community partners/allies in advocacy work • Research, coordinate and prepare presentations for various audiences • Coordinate with Director of Advocacy and communications team to create communications campaigns to advance an initiative, action, or idea • Assist with pursuit of annual event listed in Action Plan • Contribute blog posts monthly to LMM's advocacy newsletter, and weekly to LMM's social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.) • Provide ongoing input, information, and materials (as requested) that support internal and external communication efforts about racial equity and inclusion Other Job Responsibilities • Develop effective partnerships with internal and external constituencies • Actively participates in quality improvement activities of the program/agency • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct in terms of privacy of agency information and adherence to confidentiality policies & upholds the service philosophy • Comply with policies and procedures governing the department and agency and consults with appropriate administrative staff regarding issues posing potential risk • Build and maintain positive relationships with peers and other programs and departments within the organization • Perform other duties as assigned that support the mission of the agency *Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Knowledge of the structural and systematic factors that contribute to poverty, homelessness and incarceration • An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias; and genuine commitment to equity and inclusion • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse racial, ethnic, socio-ec
