MetroHealth Clinical Coordinator - Food as Medicine Program-Nutrition in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 64.00

Shift: 830a-5p Tue-Fri

Summary:

Job Summary:Under the direction of the Manager - Ambulatory Nutrition, assists with the day-to-day operations of the Food as Medicine program. Orders supplies, maintains safe food storage, and helps oversee volunteers. Provides nutrition education and food choice guidance to food clinic participants. Maintains accurate records of participant data and outcomes. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in health- or human services related field OR Associate degree in Dietetic Technology or other food- or health-related field with 2 years of experience in a food service or nutrition-related role in a clinical, health promotion, or educational setting,

Meets one of the following: • Possess a current SERV Safe Food Protection Manager Certification. • Possess a current comparable Level 2 food protection course certification as specified in rule 3701-21-25 of the Ohio Administrative Code. • Obtains a Level 2 food protection course certification within 90 days of hire. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Excel, etc.). Must have access to reliable transportation to travel to other locations within The MetroHealth System based on operational needs. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from a collegiate program approved by ACEND. Experience with human subjects research, CITI training/CREC certification in good standing preferred. 1 year of experience as a Dietetic Technician in a clinical area.

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents. Ability to push/pull/lift 100 pounds. Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products. Requires exposure to warm and cold temperatures.
