JOB OPENING IN THE LOG YARD:

GRAPPLE / SHOVEL OPERATOR / UNLOADER OPERATOR

Starting wage: \$22.20 - \$25.65/hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:

? Responsible for unloading and loading log trucks using heavy equipment such as an excavator with log grapple.

? Responsible for sorting logs by length, size, and specie using heavy equipment such as an excavator with log grapple.

? Responsible for feeding the sawmill with heavy equipment such as a 980.

? Responsible for decking logs and taking down log decks.

? Responsible for inspecting equipment for safety and maintenance as well as greasing and fueling equipment as needed.

? Responsible for assisting with log sprinkler system maintenance as required.

? Maintain a clean work area around the log yard.

? Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Heavy equipment experience is preferred.

Knowledge of log species and ability to identify log species is required.

Must complete powered industrial safety training.

C Valid Drivers License required

C Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test as well as random drug tests administered during

the course of employment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL SETTING (Indoors/Outdoors)

Sitting, standing/walking, crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting, climbing/balancing, leg/foot use,

handling/grasping, interaction with others, deadlines, and repetitive work. Employee must be able to push, pull, lift, or

carry at least 50 lbs. He/She will operate heavy equipment, is at risk of exposure to elements, and must follow all

company safety requirements.

Applicants must be able to work flexible hours and shifts.
