Golden State Foods Sr. Global Supplier Quality Specialist in City of Industry, California

Overview

The Global Supplier Quality Senior Specialist implements and maintains the Supplier Quality Program to ensure that GSF suppliers comply with company requirements and manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Implements the key components of the Supplier Quality Program including but not limited to supplier 3rd party audit reviews, supplier scorecards, approved supplier list, and risk and vulnerability assessments.

  2. Maintains electronic database housing all GSF quality records such as internal specifications and vendor documents including COA’s.

  3. Provides training and support to facility Supplier Quality Technicians on use of electronic database, including COA verification.

  4. Monitors and evaluates raw material intended for use in GSF finished goods to ensure compliance with all food safety, regulatory and quality standards (HACCP, GMP).

  5. Investigates and reacts to non-conforming raw materials and packaging issues, including communicating with suppliers, product dispositions, corrective actions, and credit requests.

  6. Supports the investigation of customer complaints or issues by extracting and evaluating data and providing trend reports to facility Quality Leadership.

  7. Performs supplier audits as necessary that may originate from persistent quality issues, or new supplier approvals.

  8. Provide support in the form of document requests, reviews, desk audits, and specification creation that may be required during an RFP project.

  9. Develops strong working relationships with supplier contacts (Quality, Customer Service, Purchasing).

  10. Supports and contributes to projects related to the implementation of FSMA programs such as Supply Chain Controls, Rule 204, Hazard Analysis and risk-based Preventive Controls.

  11. Provides technical assistance and support to Purchasing and Product Development during vendor, raw material and/or packaging approvals and commercialization of new products by adding new items and suppliers to electronic database.

  12. Fill in and perform all the responsibilities of the Sr. Supplier Quality Manager in the absence of the incumbent.

  13. Performs other related duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, microbiology, or related field of science from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

5 – 10 years of relevant work experience, with an understanding of food safety and regulations.

LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

· Day-to-day interaction with Sr Supplier Quality Manager to discuss supplier management strategies for the performance and direction for improvement related to supplier management program at all facilities.

· Provide Supplier Quality Technicians with, training and support for implementation of various supplier quality initiatives in the facilities.
