UC HEALTH LLC Trauma Center Registry Supervisor in CINCINNATI, Ohio

Trauma Center Registry Supervisor, Full-time UC Health is hiring a Registry Supervisor to join on Trauma Center on a full-time basis. The Registry Supervisor oversees all components of Trauma Registry operations, including data collection, data entry and retrieval, data quality and integrity, data analysis, display and statistical conversion of data collected for the UCMC Trauma Burn and Acute Care Surgery Programs and the WCH Trauma Program. Monitors and maintains the Trauma Registry database. Supervises the activities of the Trauma Data Abstractors/Coders and Trauma Information Coordinators. Represents UC Health Registry when interacting with state, regional and national regulatory agencies. Ensures compliance with registry related requirements to uphold the accreditation of UC Health System's designation as a Level I Adult Trauma Center, Level III Adult Trauma Center, and ABA verified Burn Center. This position will also act a as a liaison between the registries, administrative and clinical staff.   • 3 or more years of experience as a Data Abstractor/Coder/Trauma Registrar.
  • Knowledge of trauma statistical reports, performance improvement, and report writing required.
  • Ability to collate and assess raw data, and to create and present statistical data.
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 software.
  • Experience maintaining and manipulating databases.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and working knowledge of hospital medical records system(s).
  • Experience with ICD-10 coding preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC Systems preferred.

Education

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Completion of all approved Trauma Registry Course required.

Certifications

  • Possession of one or both of the following certifications is required :
    • Certified Specialists in Trauma Registries (CSTR) from the American Trauma Society (ATS).
    • Certified Abbreviated Injury Scaling Specialists (CAISS) from the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM).
    • Must acquire both certifications within 3 years of hire. Must maintain certifications.
  • Possession of one or more of the following coding certifications is preferred :
    • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
    • Certified Coding Specialists (CCS) from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
    • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) from the AHIMA.
    • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) from the AHIMA.
