  • Develop and improve cost accounting procedures to ensure accurate cost tracking, reporting, and compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

  • Conduct in-depth cost analysis on material, labor, and overhead to assess production costs, sales performance, and overall financial efficiency.

  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives by analyzing cost data and providing recommendations for process improvements and expense reduction.

  • Optimize cost allocation methods by evaluating expenditure classifications and ensuring accurate distribution across product lines, projects, or departments.

  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasting tools to support budgeting, capital expenditure planning, and strategic decision-making.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, procurement, and finance) to drive cost efficiency, enhance financial planning, and support operational goals.

  • Support financial close processes by ensuring accurate reporting of cost data and providing analysis for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Leverage ERP systems and business intelligence tools to automate cost reporting, improve data accuracy, and enhance real-time decision-making.

  • Provide audit support and ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and internal cost accounting policies while maintaining well-documented financial records.

  • Mentor and train junior cost accountants while communicating key cost insights to leadership and stakeholders to drive financial transparency and accountability.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.5+ years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, cost allocation methods, and variance analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Visio) and experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau).Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) for cost tracking and reporting.

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain costing, and process improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma is a plus).

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling, data analytics, and predictive cost analysis.

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex cost data in written, verbal, and presentation formats to all levels of the organization.

  • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make data-driven decisions.

  • Professional certifications preferred: Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Cost Engineer (CCE), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).Self-motivated and confident professional who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Salary

$76,800 - $95,000 annually.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection as required.

This role operates in a professional office environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area.
