Description Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities Effective planning and project management to develop strategic commodity strategies that include: Domestic Sources, identification of strategic partners and maintain and exit suppliers. Develops and executes long-term supplier strategy deployment, supplier cost modeling, supplier opportunity assessments, supplier financial analysis, negotiations, long-term contracts, continuous supplier performance improvement, and supplier relationship development. Negotiates long term agreements with best in class price, payment terms, quality levels, and delivery terms for purchased products in compliance with corporate objectives Coordinates and supports on-site supplier assessments / certification audits and continuous improvement activities that drive down total cost and increase total supplier quality. Manages relationship with upper management at key suppliers Root cause analysis on OTD issues and implement corrective actions Root cause analysis on Quality issues and implement corrective actions Manages supplier escalations and improvement plans Ensures accuracy of Lead-times in SAP (conduct LT review annually) Assesses supplier capacity and conduct risk analysis- capacity and financial Manages Supplier Scorecard monthly for key suppliers Achieves correct inventory level by tracking monthly Ensure Compliance to Flow Downs- Berry, Made in USA, Specialty Metals, FAR/DFAR/ITAR Identifies new and/or alternate sources of supply as necessary to support new product development, cost reduction requirements, and/or supplier performance issues. Evaluates medium to long-term supplier capabilities in an effort to optimize the commodity supply base in support of supplier reduction goals and objectives. Performs all necessary duties to support corporate goals as it relates to established supplier quality, total landed cost, and inventory objectives. Maintains a solid working knowledge of essential commodity trends including: industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, material lead times, and technical/manufacturing processes. Participates in the make vs. buy analysis Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization Adheres to all quality and safety standards Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned Secondary Duties and Responsibilities May participate in cross-functional team and work groups Supervisory Responsibilities Does not supervise others Years of Experience Level of Education Minimum 3-5 years experience in manufacturing to include SCM, operations and/or engineering responsibility. Aerospace, industrial or automotive products preferred.
