Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Cincinnati, Ohio

Description We are looking for a meticulous Accounting Clerk to join our team in the healthcare industry. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, you will play a key role in both our accounts payable and receivable departments, overseeing the processing of transactions, maintaining relationships with customers and vendors, and ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.

Responsibilities include:

• Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries, and reconciling accounts

• Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers, funders, and vendors

• Ensuring customer's invoicing is processed in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to agency procedures

• Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment, and other charges; researching billing and payment errors or discrepancies

• Ensuring that vendor payments are processed in a timely and accurate manner in adherence to agency procedures

• Communicating with clients and customers to request payment and arrange payment plans

• Processing the application for a Medicaid Waiver cash receipts

• Processing payments from customers promptly and accurately while adhering to agency procedures

• Maintaining accounting databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed; updating client accounts based on payment or contact information

• Processing daily ACH payments

• Tracking payments that don’t reconcile and contacting customers to get proper remit for payment

This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in an Accounting Clerk role or similar position within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR)

• Experience with billing procedures and invoice processing

• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accounting operations

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Detail-oriented with a strong analytical ability

• Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting.
