Tamarind Reef Resort Spa and Marina Front Desk Representative in Christiansted, Virgin Islands

A guest service representative is responsible for assisting guests with check-in and check-out processes, providing guests with hotel services information, and accommodating guests during their stay in a welcoming, responsive, and polite manner. Their duties include greeting, registering, and assigning rooms to guests. Issues room key and assist accordingly. Transmits and receives messages, via telephone and email. Handles incoming mail. Performs basic maintenance tasks. Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests, car rental, shopping, dining, entertainment, travel directions and more. Responsibilities and Duties - Maintains record of room availability and guest accounts via RoomMaster. - Creates bills, collects payment, and makes change for guests. Post charges, such as room, food, beverages to the guests ledger using the computer (RoomMaster). - Makes and confirms reservations. - Inform guests concerning services available, such as water sports, continental breakfast etc. and/ or make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservation, and arrange for Buck Island or island tours. - Renders assistance to housekeeping supervisor with weekly housekeepers schedule, and effectively communicates with room attendants and maintenance techs. - Responsible for accuracy of the daily work performed. - Reports to work as scheduled. - Responsible for the hotels petty cash while on shift. - Responsible for keeping the work area neat and tidy, safeguarding the guest services area, and guests information. - Reports all unusual incidents to management immediately. Adheres to Tamarind Reef Hotels policies, as listed in its company handbook manual. - Perform a range of clerical or administrative duties. - Perform basic maintenance tasks such as reprogramming TVs, changing batteries, changing light bulbs. Qualifications - High school diploma or GED. - 2+ years of customer service experience. - Front Desk Experience Preferred - Certificate or diploma in hospitality advantageous. - Exceptional interpersonal skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Good time management and organizational skills. - Conflict resolution experience. - Data entry skills - Dependable with strong work ethic - Customer-focused - Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality. - Typing speed of 30 wpm - Reliable Vehicle - Must be willing to go through pre-employment background, orientation, and drug screening. - Must be willing and able to work 7am - 3pm or 3pm -11pm any day of the week Benefits: - Explore opportunities for growth. - Earn bonuses. - Creating loyal customers through good customer service can provide the job and yourself with lucrative long-term relationships.
