The Buccaneer Hotel Beach Server in Christiansted, Virgin Islands
Scope and General Purpose: Beach servers ensure that patrons have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service on the beach or poolside. Servers take orders, serve food and drinks, and remove dinnerware from the table in a timely manner. Main Duties: - Greet patrons and answer questions regarding the menu on the beach or poolside. - They work closely with other wait staff and the kitchen to ensure the restaurant is operated efficiently. - Offer suggestions and recommendations, such as wine pairings. Assist in personalizing the guests meal and their service so that it is more attentive and formal. {=html} - Meet with kitchen staff or managers daily prior to service to discuss that day's offerings. Topics in these meetings may include specials, food preparation, and ingredients used, especially if they may be a potential allergen to some diners. - Processing payments. - Cleaning tables and dining area. - Setting tables. - Other duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications Education, Training, and Experience:[]{#2} - High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. - Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid food handlers card. - At least one year of experience working in a restaurant, particularly in a Server capacity. - Must have excellent people skills in order to communicate politely and professionally with guests. - Must pay attention to detail in order to deliver precisely what the guest has ordered. - Must take pride in their personal appearance and maintain the established uniform of the hotel. - They also must be capable of standing or walking for long periods of time, as well as be able to push heavy carts and lift trays.
