Patient Financial Counselor Job Type - Contract / Temporary to Hire Pay Rate - \$17.00 - \$20.00 / Hourly Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Patient Financial Counselor in Chicopee, Massachusetts. This role is centered around the healthcare industry and requires you to manage patient financial matters, including insurance verification, maintaining accuracy of records, and assisting patients with applications. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and using your skills for counseling, customer service, and billing functions. Responsibilities: Ensure the accuracy of patient insurance information in the system and maintain its accuracy Assist patients in completing MassHealth applications and staying up to date with MassHealth policies Verify and update all demographic and financial information for patients. Collect patient balances when applicable Use MEDITECH software for managing and updating patient records Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis Perform billing functions to ensure accurate invoicing Provide counseling to patients regarding financial matters and payment options Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly Handle copays and other patient payments in a timely and efficient manner. Requirements Proficiency in using MEDITECH software for health care information management Mastery of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and management Experience in handling billing functions, including invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliation Ability to provide counselling services to patients regarding financial matters, payment plans, and insurance coverage Excellent customer service skills for interacting with patients, staff, and other stakeholders Knowledge of copays, including calculation, collection, and record-keeping.
