Under general direction of the Manager, the Statistical Reports Supervisor oversees and directs the daily workflow activities of unit staff for the collection and analysis of a variety of structure and financial data in accordance with Board of Governors’ guidelines to ensure timely and accurate structure and statistical data flows in support of reserve bank operations, monetary policy and regulatory objectives. Interacts with internal project teams regularly. Maintains communication with reporting entities, internal / external stakeholders and senior management Reviews and approves others' work, ensures workflow processes are efficient and effective and that daily operations are carried out according to established policies and procedures. Directs unit to achieve division’s strategic goals and works with management to ensure success. Resolves or coordinates resolution of complex problems, initiating discussion with reporting institutions as needed. Maintains thorough knowledge and understanding of FR regulations, reporting procedures and instructions to ensure and improve data integrity within and across multiple financial and structure databases. Makes hiring and promotion recommendations to Manager and evaluates and/or provides feedback regarding staff performance. Provides input on training, supervision, goal development and guidance to staff.
The level of work is considered advanced, and staff must be able to work under minimal supervision. Problems are solved with advanced experience and highly technical expertise. This position has direct reports.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Oversight:
Provides leadership and oversight for analysis completed by unit
Directs the work of Statistics analysts to ensure the timely collection and accuracy of structure data, income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and other accounting statements and reports
Policy Development / Implementation and Work Groups:
Participates and leads System work groups and projects related to the implementation of operations, application enhancement and testing
Coordinates work and facilitates communication among project team
Strategic Initiatives:
Partners with staff and management to ensure that the appropriate business solutions and strategies are being implemented
May provide input in division strategy sessions
People Leadership:
Under direction of manager, develops performance goals for employees, establishing measurements to evaluate team skills as well as ways to assist team in building skill sets required to support business needs
Evaluates performance results and completes formal performance appraisals at mid-year and end of year
Develops and conducts training for staff
Identifies subject matter experts
Provides input on hiring recommendations to Manager
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of department manager, support administrative responsibilities including budget planning, and reviewing and updating the division scorecard
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree; major in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field
5 to 7 years of direct work experience including some management / people leadership exposure preferred
CPA certification or advanced degree preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Strong analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build collaborative and inclusive partnerships with peers, direct reports and senior level individuals within the Federal Reserve and outside reporting entities
Demonstrated knowledge of complex financial instruments/transactions; thorough understanding of Regulations D and Y, the Bank Holding Company Act, and other relevant Federal Reserve regulations
Demonstrated independent thinking and decision-making ability
Knowledge equivalent to CPA certification
Excellent coordination, project planning, and management skills
Broad knowledge of procedures and services of related areas (such as Credit Risk, Accounting, Supervision and Regulation, operational departments) and financial markets
Proficient in MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
OTHER/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires access to confidential supervisory information and/or FOMC information, which is limited to "Protected Individuals" as defined in the U.S. federal immigration law. Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. permanent residents who either are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization or who have applied for naturalization within the requisite timeframe. This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job.
