Description We are in need of a Staff Accountant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois, 60601, United States. As a Staff Accountant, you'll play a critical role in maintaining our financial records, supporting our financial close processes, and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the management of general ledger activities, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments

• Aid in the support of financial close processes on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements

• Undertake account analyses and reconciliations, including bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and prepaid accounts

• Assist in creating budgets and financial forecasts

• Monitor and review capital expenditures, ensuring proper documentation

• Maintain compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal control procedures

• Recommend improvements to accounting processes while preparing and posting monthly accruals

• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely reporting

• Assist in the preparation of tax documentation and coordinate with external auditors as necessary

• Utilize ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Excel to create efficient workflows and reports. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar capacity.

• Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.

• Demonstrated experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.

• Familiarity with maintaining and updating the General Ledger.

• Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries accurately.

• Experience in conducting Month End Close activities.
