Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Internal Auditor to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, leading, and performing financial, operational, IT, and SOX audits. You will also be tasked with evaluating and examining accounting processes, policies, procedures, and systems across business units and the corporate office. This role is vital in maintaining and monitoring companywide RCM documentation and preparing audit reports.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning, leading, and conducting financial, operational, IT, and SOX audits.

• Leading planning meetings with internal management to identify risks, opportunities, emerging trends, and to determine the scope of reviews/audits.

• Evaluating and examining accounting processes, policies, procedures, and systems at business units and the corporate office.

• Developing and executing audit procedures, including documenting processes and procedures, establishing testing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and identifying and documenting process and control issues.

• Evaluating the reliability and integrity of audit information, the efficient and effective use of resources, and the execution of business processes at business units.

• Maintaining and monitoring companywide RCM documentation, and working with the process owners to keep policies and control documentation updated.

• Preparing audit reports that identify and document the adequacy and effectiveness of management's controls, business risks, process improvements, and efficiency opportunities.

• Following up / tracking issue remediation progress and advising on best practice remediation solutions.

• Assisting with annual risk assessment, audit plan development, and resource planning. Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

• Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required

• Demonstrated expertise in internal auditing standards and risk management is essential

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities are crucial

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

• Demonstrated experience with financial reporting and record-keeping

• Experience with regulatory audits and compliance is beneficial

• Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles is paramount

• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting

• Proven experience in developing and implementing internal audit strategies and procedures.
