Pay Range: $41.44 - $67.44 per hour

Summary:

This position will have management responsibilities for Heart and Vascular Service Line employees supporting national specialty database and publicly reported measures. Responsible for the management of daily operations of quality abstraction, reporting, analysis and quality improvement work. Resulting data will be utilized to guide clinical decisions, drive process improvements, and improve patient care and outcomes. The position directly supports Rush strategies of Operational Excellence and Quality Outcomes. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in healthcare or business management field

• 5-7 years relevant healthcare experience

• Basic knowledge of hospital coding and documentation, DRGs, and ICD10-CM coding

• EMR experience

• Advanced knowledge of clinical registries, database, as well as the organizational impact for registry/database measures used in external reporting environment.

• Demonstrated, sustained success in quality improvement project management

• Ability to effectively lead multi-disciplinary teams through change management

• Demonstrated ability to understand complex metrics of patient care and the drivers of metric performance

• Flexibility to meet organizational goals and adapt to changing needs

• Ability to perform tasks independently and prioritize workload

• Excellent interpersonal and communicate skills at all leadership levels

• Demonstrated analytical skills and abilities

Responsibilities:

• Clinical collaboration with Heart and Vascular physicians/APPs and contracted Abstraction services to successfully and accurately report existing and new clinical registry data both internally and externally (e.g. Cath PCI, TVT, AFib, STS, INTERMACS, GWTG, VQI)

• Track and manage all heart and vascular service line quality data across the RUSH system, including all heart and vascular registries, internal quality databases and REDCaps, Vizient data, Press Ganey patient satisfaction data

• Successful and accurate reporting of service line quality data to internal stakeholders and leadership to drive quality improvement efforts for improved patient outcomes.

• Write and submit quality abstracts and papers, and attend national conferences on behalf of RUSH Heart and Vascular to present accepted submissions and findings

• Lead service line accreditation efforts and center of excellence designation projects

• Identify quality improvement opportunities, engage relevant stakeholders, and lead quality and process improvement projects and initiatives across the RUSH system

• In conjunction with service line leadership, define annual quality priorities and metric targets

• Lead monthly heart and vascular subspecialty quality committees

• Perform and present ROI analyses, incorporating quantitative and qualitative costs and benefits, on proposed quality projects to inform prioritization

• Manages staff including Nurse Abstractors

• Oversight of quality and production of contracted Abstraction servicers to ensure inter-rater reliability that meets our quality standards in terms of data accuracy and timeliness.
