Description

Robert Half is seeking a full-time Commercial Litigation Attorney for a reputable litigation firm in Chicago, Illinois. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing and managing complex legal issues, formulating legal strategy, and managing client relationships. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze, address, and manage complex legal issues within the organization

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, ensuring they are filed accurately with the court

  • Conduct initial case investigations to identify potential case issues

  • Formulate legal strategy, case planning, and management, aligning with the overall objectives of the organization

  • Produce all legal work in line with assigned deadlines and court schedules

  • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes, aiming for the best outcome for the organization

  • Ensure strict compliance with all legal standards and regulations, keeping abreast of any changes that may impact the organization

  • Build and manage client relationships, ensuring their needs are met and maintaining a high level of service

  • Use skills in LexisNexis, Management System, Briefing, Commercial Litigation, Bankruptcy, Client communications, and Legal Research to effectively carry out responsibilities

    Requirements

  • Must possess a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school

  • Must be admitted to the state bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state

  • Proven experience in the field of law, preferably with a focus on commercial litigation and bankruptcy

  • Proficiency in using legal research tools such as LexisNexis

  • Experience with legal management systems

  • Strong communication skills, particularly in client communications and briefing

  • Ability to conduct thorough and detailed legal research

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
