ASSOCIATE DISABILITY OFFICER (ADA Coordinator)

Department of Human Resources

Starting Salary: $73,800.00

Under direct supervision, an Associate Disability Officer has a specialized focus on ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) while supporting employees with disabilities. The role requires strong knowledge of ADA law and associated regulations, problem-solving skills, and empathy to support employees effectively while balancing business needs; and performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Receiving and Reviewing Accommodation Requests.

· Engaging in the Interactive Process with Employees and Managers.

· Evaluating and Implementing Accommodations.

· Ensuring Legal Compliance.

· Communicating with Stakeholders.

· Monitoring and Following Up with Employees and Managers.

· Devising and Implementing Alternative Solutions.

· Providing Training and Awareness.

· Apprising the Disability Officer of Emergent Circumstances that may require greater attention or unique solutions.

· Tracking and record keeping.

Additional duties may be required for this position.

Location: 121 N La Salle Street, RM 1100

Days: Monday – Friday

Hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

THIS POSITION IS CAREER SERVICE

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or a directly related field, plus one (1) year of work experience in equal employment opportunity (EEO) or employee relations that includes handling disability-related investigations or processes, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience provided that the minimum degree requirement is met

OR

Graduation from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school, plus one (1) year of professional work experience in employee relations.
