Air National Guard Units AIR OPERATIONS OFFICER (PILOT/NAVIGATOR) in Cheyenne, Wyoming

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIR OPERATIONS OFFICER (PILOT/NAVIGATOR), Position Description Number PDD0307000 and is part of the WY 153rd Operations Group, Wyoming Air National Guard. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required. Responsibilities This position is located with the 153d Airlift Wing (153 AW), 153d Operations Group (153 OG), Wyoming Air National Guard (WYANG). Its paramount purpose is to plan, organize and supervise all unit flying operations programs required by Air Force, Major Command, and (ANG) regulations. In addition to supervisory responsibility, this position is a rated aircrew member on flying status involved in the piloting or navigation of unit-equipped aircraft. (1) Plans work to be accomplished by the organization which consists of about 15 or more full-time subordinates engaged in technical and administrative work. (2) Oversees all unit operations activities, both in the air and on the ground, which based on unit mission and equipment, may include any of the following Air Operation's program support functional areas: Training, Standardization and Evaluation, Tactics, Scheduling, Plans, Command Post, Intelligence, Life Support, Flying Operations and Flight Management. Unit mission may require additional functions, e.g. Airspace Management, Air Evacuation Operations, Aero-Medical Operations, Aircraft Alert Operations, Airfield Management, Simulator Operations, Operational Support Aircraft (OSA) etc. (3) Develops long-range training and deployment plans for the unit to meet training goals, higher headquarters inspection schedules and overseas deployment requirements. Coordinates required planning and resources with other units and higher headquarters to support and implement the training and deployment plan. (4) Acts as a key advisor on the 153 AW Commander's staff to coordinate unit flying operations with other ANG flying units and outside agencies, e.g. the Federal Aviation Administration, civilian airport authorities, etc., and with unit maintenance resources and support areas. (5) Serves as the Operations representative on the Commander's Financial Management Board. Develops and recommends the operations budget for approval to higher headquarters based on unit requirements and mission. * This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. * Requirements Conditions of Employment KEY REQUIREMENTS: Open to Air Force, AF Reserves, and Air Nat'l Guard military members only. Must become a member of the Wyoming Air Nat'l Guard before appt. Must submit vMPF Rip/Data Verification Rip with application. May be required to successfully complete a 1-year trial/probationary period. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT and NOTES: Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT). Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 6: Current and prior service military members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least one-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-13). Experience, education, or training routine and non-routine preflight, in-flight, post-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties related to mobility aircraft or similar airframes (e.g. C-130). Receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems. AND Possess experience managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. NOTE: Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.
