Description

We are in search of a meticulous HR Administrator and Payroll to join our client's team based in the South Jersey area. This HR Administrator and Payroll role primarily involves managing and executing various payroll processes, onboarding new hires, and overseeing employee termination procedures. The successful candidate will also be tasked with maintaining accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with employment regulations, and managing various HR-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the verification and submission of timesheets for all employees, whether in executive or non-executive roles.

  • Handle the verification and processing of expenditure reports of both non-executive and executive staff members.

  • Update summaries of payroll, incorporating any payroll adjustments, bonuses, or changes for all employees.

  • Utilize Paychex Preview for processing the bi-weekly payroll of executive staff.

  • Analyze payroll reports, perform necessary corrections, and issue manual checks as required.

  • Manage the pre-employment process, encompassing the coordination of system access via the database and the facilitation of initial HIPAA training sessions with the Compliance Officer.

  • Oversee the preparation of new hire documents and perform verification of employment history and education.

  • Keep precise records and files of non-executive staff members, ensuring adherence to I-9 employment verification protocols.

  • Maintain and update spreadsheets for employee tracking, scheduling key events such as performance evaluations, health screenings, and benefit eligibility dates.

  • Coordinate the process of employee termination, inclusive of paperwork, benefit termination, and the COBRA process.

  • Handle the execution of documentation and claims relating to unemployment compensation, attending hearings when required.

    Requirements

The ideal HR Administrator and Payroll candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education.

Other requirements for the HR Administrator and Payroll position include and are not limited to:

  • 2+ years of experience in human resources or payroll administration.

  • Excellent knowledge of payroll systems, human resource procedures, data input, payroll taxes, compensation benefits, and worker compensation.

  • Strong computer skills, including MS Excel and Paylocity, are necessary.

  • Ability to work independently as well as being a team member

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required along with the ability to effectively interface with external contacts
