About our Team

As part of Digital Business Solutions team, we work closely in a technology partnership with theFinance Analytics & Reporting business team to provide timely customer insight. This includes day-to-day support as well as developing long-term solutions for sustained high quality data and analytics.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer in Digital Business Solutions, you will be part of a collaborative developmentteam supporting the Finance Reporting & Analytics business unit. You will be responsible for de‐veloping new data pipelines, new database schemas and supporting existing data pipelines thatload data from around Elsevier. You will be involved in implementing new business logic into data pipelines in Oracle PLSQL on the OCI platform as well as implementing business logic in Snowflake.

Responsibilities

· Working closely with Technical Lead and Product Owner to design and develop complex data-pipelines

· Ensuring solutions are resilient and fault-tolerant

· Ensuring all solutions have the appropriate level of documentation and meet Elsevier's architectural standards

· Following development processes, coding best practices, and perform code reviews.

· Collaborating with other engineering teams in understanding the data and translatingrequirements.

· Showing good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, anddisseminate

Requirements

· Have an experience in the data warehousing, ETL and SQL area

· Have an experience in supporting, developing, and enhancing data pipelines using SQL/PLSQL and any high-level language, such as Python, Go, JavaScript, Java.

· Have experience ETL Tools and processes (Apache Airflow/Spark, AWS Glue, Talend ).

· Have an Understanding of data modeling principles.
