Job Description:

• Identify and resolve issues reported within defines SLAs part of routine maintenance of existing applications built in SharePoint online.

• Report extraction and automations to support different metrics, that are maintained in the applications.

• Work with Stakeholders on the enhancements in the existing applications.

Project Planning, Tracking, & Reporting

• Workout budgetary estimates during kick off, after understanding the high-level requirements.

• Support the team in project planning activities, identify risks proactively, escalating thru appropriate channels as required and responsible for closely tracking the actual efforts

• Communicate regularly the status of Projects, risks that creeps, impediments if any.

Design

• Familiar with Microsoft Visio, Word to create HLD, LLD, DLD in various stages of SharePoint site development and maintenance.

Qualifications:

T3 - IT

Data engineering abilities and expertise in using SQL, DDL/DML, performance tuning, data modelling and data warehousing techniques. Knowledge of Pyspark and ETL tool like Informatica is mandatory.

Experience working with relational/non-relational databases and understanding of storage technologies like Databricks, Aurora PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2. Work with DBA and other staff as necessary, to instantiate physical databases based on the models.

Data Engineer

Our team is looking for a data driven person who has engineered and supported critical applications in an insurance / financial environment and is experienced in analytics, business intelligence, data warehousing and setting up data pipelines across the enterprise. The candidate will display technical and functional competence in data management standards and uphold Guardian’s commitment to Guardian values.

Position Objective

As a Data Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following activities:

· Review and understand data requirements for operational and analytic projects, with a special emphasis on developing scalable data solutions involving data integration, reporting, analytics and data warehousing.

· Collaborate with business and IT partners to refine data requirements and perform data analysis activities including data profiling, creation of data dictionaries, data transformation rules and integration requirements.

· Develop and maintain data pipelines to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.

· Integrate data from a variety of systems into refined data products available to the rest of the enterprise to support both real-time and batch processing.

· Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data accuracy and assist in data analysis to troubleshoot and resolve data issues

Your Responsibilities

Data Engineering:

Data engineering abilities and expertise in using SQL, DDL/DML, performance tuning, data modelling and data warehousing techniques. Knowledge of Pyspark is mandatory.

Experience working with relational/non-relational databases and understanding of storage technologies like Databricks, Aurora PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2.

Cloud Data Technologies: Experience working with cloud services and cloud data warehouses.

Experience with big data tools Redshift, HIVE, Presto, Spark, Kafka, etc. Experience with AWS Glue, Redshift, Athena, Parquet file formats, Snowflake, or data lake architecture is a plus.

Data Analysis & Design: Review data sources and assess data quality; determine the appropriate data inputs, outputs and integration rules and strategy. Advanced problem solving, data analytics and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and solve complex business needs. Exposure to Data Integration tools like SSIS, Syncsort and Informatica.

Cross-Organizational Coordination: Interface with business units, internal IT, customers and management in the performance of duties. Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies.

Knowledge

· Insurance domain knowledge; preferably with an insurance carrier.

· Relational database concepts; Strong experience data integration, business intelligence related technologies.

· Pyspark, ETL concepts

· Strong RDBMS knowledge.

Experience

· 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer and strong ETL, SQL, PL/SQL experience.

· 3+ years of pyspark

· Strong UNIX Scripting experience.

· Strong Hadoop and the Data Lake experience including familiarity with Hive, Pyspark or any other related technologies would be a huge plus.

· Experience with Data Integration – Informatica, SSIS, Syncsort
