Responsibilities

  • Manages files and document processing in compliance with Dow’s best practices. Follow the document control process for receiving documents from the supplier, routing to engineers for approval, and sending the documents back to the supplier. Logs revisions and distribute to key team members.

  • Ensures transfer of engineering documents into the plant, tech center, and site engineering records. Feed documents into the main library, which includes regular submittals through Design and Construction, and the final documents turned over during Project Closure.

  • Provides the necessary support for Design, Procurement, and Construction activities which will help the smooth and timely execution of the project. This is done by demonstrating proficient job skills, knowledge, teamwork and quality performance in an efficient and professional manner.

  • Works closely with the project engineer to maintain a timely flow of documents throughout the project team. Develops and maintains project files to ensure that consistency is implemented. These include files on labor bills, supplier documents, inquiry, and order bills and/or all documents originated for the purpose of external/internal communication.

  • Provide assistance to peers on an as needed basis during excessive workload periods or act as a back-up during peers' absence. Responsible for working with Closure team to ensure all engineering documents are prepared for archive in accordance with plant/site requirements and delivered to plant/site after detail engineering is complete.

  • Is the Records Retention focal point for project team. Responsible for creating maintenance files (electronic and hardcopy) with appropriate documentation of equipment that is necessary for plant operations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook are required.

  • Must be able to apply software applications to respond to requests with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • The ability to build strong working relationships with diverse groups. The job duties are diverse and require quick, accurate, and consistent decision making.

  • Able to handle multiple priorities from multiple sources.

  • Must be an organized self-starter enabling good judgment and the flexibility to adapt to priority changes and demands.

  • A minimum bachelor’s degree is required.

Preferred Skills

• Good interpersonal skills are required.

• Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.

• A self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks.

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Additional notes

The Dow Chemical Company does not offer relocation assistance for this position. This includes reimbursement for travel expenses incurred to and from test sessions/interviews.
